Letter to my brothers and sisters in Kashmir

lake-dal-shikava-boat-681x444A letter to my Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

My dear brothers n sisters,
First of all a warm hug to you from me and all of India. Welcome to the family.

It has been many long years of darkness and despair for you all. It is not easy living under the constant threat of terrorism and fear. You have been separated from the mainstream, bullied, misguided and misused in many ways.

I can only imagine how difficult and destressing your life must have been. It must have instilled so much fear and mistrust in you regarding the government. …it had just allowed things to go from bad to worse, and also all of us….as we have been silent spectators for too long. We can only apologise for the same.

But now is a dawn of a new era for you. It is time to integrate, trust and believe that things will be fine now. To step out and educate, work and grow in the best institutions and create a better life for yourself and your future generations. To fulfill all your dreams that you may have felt impossible till now.

Do not feel consious of the past. It is over now. Let us start anew.

Please ignore and forgive the stupid memes by ignorant people. We believe in solidarity and brother hood and promise to  stand by you and support you all in whichever way we can, wherever we can and however we can.

All the best.
Your Indian sister
